Swami Sivananda Saraswati
As a major spiritual voice of his time, Swami Sivananda guided thousands
of spiritual seekers, disciples and aspirants all over the world. He wrote
hundreds of books and articles on yoga and spirituality to maintain and
introduce yogic values in the minds of the general public.
Swami Satyananda Saraswati
Author of over 80 books on yoga and spiritual life and the inspiration
behind many Yoga Ashrams in India and abroad, he founded the International
Yoga Fellowship Movement in 1956, the Bihar School of Yoga in 1963 and
Sivananda Math, a social and charitable institution to help the weaker,
underprivileged sections of society in 1984. In 1988 he renounced his
mission and now lives as a Paramahamsa Sannyasin.
Swami Niranjanananda Saraswati
Initiated into the Dashnami Sannyasa tradition in 1970, he was sent to
develop yoga centres and ashrams around the world in 1971. Returning to
India in 1984, he was appointed Preceptor in succession to Swami Satyananda
in 1993. He founded Bihar Yoga Bharati, the worlds first Yoga University
in 1994. Author of many classical books on Yoga, Tantra and the Upanishads,
he divides his time between national and international tours and residence
at Bihar Yoga Bharati, where he is the Chancellor.
